Meriii Christmad นาค่ะ !!

This week has been so good! I have felt the Christmas spirit even in Thailand where I come across at least 1 or 2 people a day who don't know what Christmas even is or they will say to me "No Christmas is only for foreigners, I'm Thai so it's not for me." To which I reply, "no Christmas is for everyone! Everyone can have Christmas!" And then I proceed to try to explain about the birth of Jesus and how He is the way we can have hope in life. And then I would invite them to the Christmas party (or try to haha). I guess our Christmas enthusiasm paid off (not really it was all God's doing) because we had close to 20 investigators/former investigators/potential investigators at the party!! 8 of which came to church the next day.
The Christmas party was done so well! The members did such a good job. I had the distinct feeling that many people there had felt the true spirit of Christmas for the first time at the activity. I felt so grateful to just be a part of it. A small part is inviting people and making them feel welcomed. That is one of the greatest things someone can do for another person - I think. Be a friend and make them feel welcomed. 😊 There were recent converts just glowing with excitement. Oh I loved it! The activity also made me miss home a little bit but the members here are so great and make me feel like this is my home. I will be so sad when I leave บางนา Bang Na.
On Sunday, Christmas eve, our darling investigator got baptized!! 🐳 อิ๋ว (Ew) is a 22 year old university student with the best smile 😊. I was so happy for her. She wasn't sure if she had enough knowledge but she had enough faith. She helped us teach another investigator who is struggling with the word of wisdom, and she said "it was hard to change, but I wanted to keep the commandments so my family can be together forever." So amazing!
Christmas eve night our district of ten missionaries did a gift exchange and made pancakes with sister นิว. The gift I got (from an elder who thought he was really funny) was a hat (bought in Thailand) that said 'real American cowboy' ha. Ha. Ha. It was actually pretty funny. But then sister Feldman gave me pajama pants that were Canadian themed!!! Bought in Thailand too! Hahaha it was the best.
Today for christmas (p day!!!) we woke up at 5:30 to open our gifts!! And then went to President and Sister Johnson's house for their open house. It was so nice to be in a western style house and to visit with them and other missionaries and to eat western food too! Then we went to a trampoline park. It was sweet.

Right now I'm on a bus in central Bangkok on our way to our appointment with the Bishop and his family!
I had the opportunity this month to read Mark this month and I have learned a little bit more about Christ.
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

More pictures

We made pizza for our scripture reading class. We made the pizza and read scriptures while it baked! The pakistani lady in pink is A (investigator) and the lady in grey is sister กวาง Guang who is an awesome member.

It's soo cold here!! +27 celsius!

Hello everyone! It's cold here! The past few days when we have walked out of our apartment we have felt more cold than inside. People are wearing hoodies and jackets. It's the closest to a white Christmas as I'll get (weather wise).
BUT speaking of white Christmas' our investor อิ๋ว (pronounced Ew) is getting baptised on Christmas Eve!! อิ๋ว is an awesome university student and is so excited to be baptised! I love her so much. She is so positive despite some hard things in her life. She has the prettiest smile. She's the one in the middle of the attached photo wearing a lamb hat  555.
This week we had the stake Christmas party. It was so amazing to see this amazing stake (Bangkok East) come together and put on this huge activity. There was a traditional Thai dancer and Thai food and coconut ice cream. We were able to have our Pakistani investigators go and a few of our other investigators go to the activity. The next day those investigators came to church too with a few other ones and we were able to get a family of LA's to church too. Oh it was such a good Sunday yesterday. Obviously most Sundays are not always like this, so it was a miracle!
I have been reading the book of Mark this month for Christmas, and it is amazing all of the miracles that our savior Jesus Christ did, and how He did then too, never asking for attention, only faith. I have been learning that having faith IS HARD but as I try my best to have faith there is power that comes.
"Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief." Mark 9
"Go tell it on the mountain, that Jesus Christ is born!"

PS feel free to send me Christmas cards and letters telling me about your families!

Christmas and Commandments

I am so excited for Christmas! I really miss the snow and it doesn't look like Christmas here, but one of my favourite songs to sing along the streets in Bang Na, Bangkok is "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" or "Walking in a winter wonderland". I am also taking the wonderful opportunity and talking to people about Christmas! They usually don't respond as enthusiastically as me because seeing as Thailand is mostly Buddhist and don't do anything for Christmas and like songkran better (holiday in April -it's like a big water fight. Google it) but Christmas is the best!! Christmas means so much more to me now that I am teaching people about it and it's true meaning.
We had Zone Conference last Friday and we had a turkey dinner and had cookies and milk and watched a movie and then had training and Sister Johnson did Christmas games with us and Christmas caroling. She gave a talk about the little drummer boy. I feel like him. I am just a little missionary and have so little to give Christ. But the little drummer boy asks if he can play his drum for the baby Jesus because that is all he can give. He plays his very best, and he maybe messed up a few times, but then Jesus smiled at him. So like the drummer boy I want to try my very best, and even if I mess up (when I mess up) he will still smile at me. This is something that I am slowly learning on my mission. I feel like there is nothing more that I want than to have Jesus Christ smile at me. Read Enos' last words.
A common theme this week has been teaching the commandments to investigators. The commandments are given to BLESS US. This is something that is very hard to get across. I know and have a testimony that if he keep the commandments, we are following Jesus Christ. I love you all! Love,
